This is the story of nurses on Bataan during World War II. In a sort of
dugout subjected to gunfire, the individual characters emerge to offer a
collection reaction to war. These include the strong-minded doctor, her
restrained and poised assistant and the volunteer nurses: a vacuous
Southern girl, a swaggering bully, a couple of timid aesthetes, an
ex-burlesque girl and the inevitable spy. This is a compelling, caustic
revelation of human beings under fire. For tickets or more

by Karoline Leach. Joe Brancato, who helmed the Off-Broadway production,

his next bride into marriage, and happens upon Adelaide, a milliner’s
assistant who is sitting on a small nest egg of 50 pounds. He woos her
and two days after they’ve met, he convinces her to get married that

OGUNQUIT: An
everyday tale of gummi bears, flying tomatoes, a botched penectomy and
the Platonic notion that sex is the human effort to reconnect two halves
of our original whole, Hedwig and the Angry Inch
tells the story of fourth-wall smashing East German rock 'n'
roll goddess, Hedwig Schmidt. A brutally honest musical theatre
experience to startle your soul. Thursday nights at Club MaineStreet in
Ogunquit, Maine (only 15 minutes from Portsmouth!) all summer.
Performances run June 5th through August 28th at
9:30pm. Tickets are $15/general admission and available at the door. The
outrageous and unexpectedly hilarious story is dazzlingly performed by
Hedwig in the form of a rock gig/stand-up comedy routine, backed by
hard-rocking band "The Angry Inch". Focusing upon Hedwig's lifelong
search for the "origin of love" and her other half, the story's
explosive finale explores the nature of identity in a superficial
celebrity obsessed modern society - finally asking if, in today's world,
there is any room for love and acceptance. It's a roller-coaster ride -
funny, touching, emotionally draining and ultimately inspiring to anyone
who feels life has given them an inch when they deserved a mile.
