Janice
Luise-Lutkus recently completed the summer drama program at Yale
University for Directing and has done additional theatre studies in London and
Paris. She is the producing director of AspenDream Productions, LLC a
comedy/murder dinner theatre company for the past 11 years that performs
throughout the tri-state area. She holds a BA in Theatre from UCONN, has
performed lead roles in regional theatre in, Boston, Connecticut and New York
for the past 20 years (The Miracle Worker, Wizard of OZ, Cat’s Paw, Jake’s
Women, Grease, Chapter Two, etc.)
She has appeared in television commercials, voice-overs, and training videos. As
a freelance artist, she has taught theatre, produced and directed theatrical
productions throughout CT. She also does independent casting for commercials and
is listed in CT Film and Media as a Casting Director. Janice has taught public
speaking professionally to hundreds of individuals throughout the state and has
over 22 years of professional management experience.
Janice just finished directing Proof at the Warner Studio Theatre in
October, has been selected to direct Amadeus in June 2008 at the new
Warner Studio Theatre in Torrington, and is currently directing Perfect
Crime at New Britain Repertory Theatre in CT in February.
"It’s Not Luck" is unlike any other advice column you will read on the subject
of the business of theatre. It aims to dispel the notion that the industry is
about luck and without it, there is no hope for success. Her writing style is
direct and to the point as is her personality. It’s Not Luck is about why most
of the people on the performing side of the business need to stop hoping for
that lucky big break and start working to make things happen for themselves.
