Music Mountain Announces 2017 Twilight Concert Schedule - First Time Guests and Returning Favorites

FALLS VILLAGE, CT: Music Mountain, America’s oldest continuing summer chamber musical festival, announced today the lineup for its 2017 Twilight Concert Series! “We have selected an unprecedented 11 jazz ensembles plus a taste of Broadway to make this season’s series one of the biggest yet!” stated Music Mountain President Nicholas Gordon.

“I am really excited to see that Music Mountain is putting its Twilight series in the map as the place to go to if you want to hear some of the best jazz music being created today. I am looking forward to hearing the hottest acts from NYC, Baltimore and Barcelona at Music Mountain this summer,” added Oskar Espina-Ruiz, Music Mountain new artistic director. Concerts are scheduled through September 16.

The New York Gilbert & Sullivan Players opens the series on Saturday, June 17 (6:30PM) with a delightful staged concert version of The Pirates of Penzance plus favorite selections from the rest of the G&S repertoire. The season continues with some of the best jazz groups playing today, including The New Black Eagle Jazz Band, Swingtime Big Band, The Peter & Will Anderson Trio, Alexis Cuadrado Group, Ben Allison & The Easy Way, Alan Ferber Nonet, Ben Kono Group, Ryan Keberle & Catharsis, Todd Marcus Quintet, Michael Berkeley, The Galvanized Jazz Band, and Jive By Five. Keeping with long-standing tradition, the Saturday Twilight Series features pre-concert dinners at the quaint Falls Village Inn. Experience a piece of history in this 175 year old Inn and then go up to Music Mountain to hear the best of jazz and swing!

Music Mountain is located in Falls Village, Connecticut on Music Mountain Road, where a short scenic drive will bring you to Gordon Hall atop Music Mountain. Free parking and picnic facilities are available.

Twilight Series Concerts are $30. Pre-Concert Dinners (5pm) at The Fall Village Inn are $70 (includes dinner & concert). Regularly scheduled Chamber Music Concerts are $35. Children ages 5-18 are admitted FREE for ALL CONCERTS when accompanied by a ticket holder. Saturday evening Twilight Concerts are at 6:30pm.
