LITCHFIELD, CT: The Litchfield Jazz Festival
(www.litchfieldjazzfest.com) is proud to present a series of 15 free concerts
throughout the month of July – “Litchfield Jazz Around Town.” Part 1 of the
series is called Jazz Festival Thursdays. Thursday July 10, 17 and 24 at 6:30 pm
there will be live jazz by talented Litchfield Jazz Camp students with no cover
charge at Senor Pancho’s restaurant located at 7 Village Green Drive on Route
202, Litchfield, CT. Part 2 of the series, Litchfield Jazz Camp Faculty Concerts
will be held at the Forman School’s Peirce Dinning Hall, 12 Norfolk Road,
Litchfield, CT from July 7 through July 30.
This is a unique opportunity to hear some of the best jazz players in the
industry as well as up-and-coming talent in a very intimate setting free of
charge. Teaching Artists concerts will be held on Tuesday, July 8, Thursday,
July 10, Tuesday, July 15, Thursday, July 17, Tuesday, July 22, Thursday, July
24, Tuesday, July 29 and Wednesday, July 30. In addition the Teaching Assistants
will give concerts on Mondays: July 7, 14, 21 and 28. All concerts will be held
at 7:00 pm. A free will donation will support Litchfield Jazz Camp need-based
scholarships.
Performers will include Litchfield Jazz Camp teaching artists trumpeters Jeremy
Pelt and Louise Baranger, bassists Mario Pavone, Dave Santoro and Avery Sharpe,
pianists Peter Madsen, Andy Jaffe and Rachel Z, guitarists Paul Bollenback, Dave
Stryker and Mark Whitfield, drummers Alvin Atkinson, Rogerio Boccato, Winard
Harper and Neal Smith, saxophonists Kris Allen, Claire Daly, Mike DiRubbo, Jimmy
Greene, vocalists Vanessa Rubin and Karrin Allyson and many more. For details

The “Jazz Around Town” series leads seamlessly into the Litchfield Jazz Festival
on August 1, 2, and 3 at the Goshen Fairgrounds in Goshen, CT. The Festival
line-up includes Bebe Neuwirth, Paquito D’Rivera, Dave Brubeck, John Pizzarelli
with orchestra performing the Frank Sinatra Songbook, Cyrus Chestnut, and many
more. The weekend also includes a crafters, artists, local and fresh cuisine and
