Missoula Children's Theatre Returns to the Garde for
Summer on Stage 2008
NEW LONDON, CT: The Garde Arts Center’s
Institute for Creativity and the Missoula Children’s Theatre will once again
offer an unforgettable summer theatre experience for students aged 7-18 years.
Summer On Stage 2008 will consist of two one-week sessions, July 21-26 and July
28-August 2, 2008. Students may attend one or both sessions, and each session
will feature classes in acting, movement, music, and make-up taught by
instructors from the Garde Institute for Creativity. In addition to classes,
students will participate as actors, singers, dancers, stagehands, and assistant
directors in original large-cast musicals directed by professionals from the
Missoula Children’s Theatre.
Classes and rehearsal for Session One will run Monday, July 21 through Friday,
July 25, 2008 with two performances of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs at 11:00
am and 2:00 pm on Saturday, July 26, 2008. Classes and rehearsal for Session Two
will run Monday, July 28 through Friday, August 1, 2008 with two performances of
Hansel & Gretel at 11:00 am and 2:00 pm on Saturday, August 2, 2008.
Summer On Stage 2008 is sponsored by the Mohegan Tribe, with additional funding
provided by Coca-Cola Bottling of Southeastern Connecticut, General
Dynamic/Electric Boat, the Community Foundation of Southeastern Connecticut, the
Connecticut Department of Education, and the Connecticut Commission on Culture
and Tourism.
The Missoula Children's Theatre (MCT), the nation’s largest touring children’s
theatre, has been touring extensively for 35 years, from Montana to Japan, and
will visit more than 1,200 communities in 2008 with 45 teams of Tour
Actor/Directors. MCT's mission is the development of life skills in children
through participation in the performing arts. The Missoula Children's Theatre is

Registration for Summer on Stage 2008 is $275 per one-week session per student,
with discounts available for siblings and for students attending both sessions.
